Discover what’s new in Sage Intacct 2025 Release 2
The new Sage Intacct release is packed with exciting new features to simplify financial operations and improve decision-making. One of the most significant advancements in this release is the deeper integration of AI technology. Below we’ll highlight the updates and enhancements so you can get the most out of this release.
AI-powered features for streamlined operations
Advanced AP automation with purchasing integration
Sage Intacct has enhanced its accounts payable (AP) automation by integrating it with purchasing. The AI-driven system now automates the matching of incoming transactions, such as vendor invoices, even when there is no corresponding match to a purchase order or requisition. This reduces manual work and speeds up transaction processing.
Mobile employee expense automation
For Sage Intelligent Time mobile app and Employee Expense module users, submitting, capturing, and approving expense reports is now easier. Employees and managers can handle expense related tasks directly from their devices, saving time and increasing user convenience.
AI for supply chain optimization
Supply chain module enhancements allow users to link supply requests to existing purchase orders. This ensures timely fulfillment of critical inventory requests and keeps teams equipped without delays.

Email security and communication reliability
Email communication gets a security boost with domain authentication. Businesses need to validate their email domains within Sage Intacct admin configuration to secure outgoing emails such as invoices or statements. If you haven’t set up domain authentication yet, Sage recommends you do so quickly to avoid disruptions in email communications. Action needed:
- Go to Company Settings in Sage Intacct
- Add and authenticate your email domain
- Work with your IT administrator to complete the DNS setup
For companies using generic email domains (e.g., Gmail), this update will have minimal impact, but custom domains stand to benefit significantly from improved security and reliability.
Copilot Close Assistant
Simplifying month-end close, the Copilot Close Assistant features proactive tracking and a clear view of critical tasks. It gives finance teams an at-a-glance view of standard close tasks across core applications, streamlining navigation for subledgers and the general ledger. Close Assistant provides a summary of close status across all entities and subledgers, helping teams track progress, spot bottlenecks, and stay aligned. Sage Intacct customers can join the early adopter program to try it out.
New contract summary tab
Sage Intacct is rolling out a new import service across more transaction types making importing data like AP bills or revenue smoother.
- Users can now make corrections to data imports directly within the interface, minimizing errors and improving time management
- Import templates are gradually being rolled out across different modules, starting with Accounts Payable and revenue imports
Accounts payable enhancements
Several new features to AP workflows include:
- Joint payee checks: The new feature allows AP users to split payments across multiple payees, especially useful for construction or other industries that require joint pay scenarios
- Voiding alerts on reconciled transactions: Improved safeguards will alert you if you try to void reconciled AP transactions, reducing error risk
- Special character restrictions: To prevent system errors special characters are now restricted in certain AP fields like terms and labels
Purchasing process updates
- Price-hiding: Users can now hide pricing on specific purchasing transactions for exception reporting.
- Save drafts without document ID: Draft purchasing transactions can now be saved without assigning a document ID so you can create reusable templates for future transactions.
New dimension for inter-company accounting
Sage Intacct 2025 R2 has updates to AR processes:
- Customer refunds: Record refunds against specific purchase products
- External credits: Apply external credits, such as supplier refunds, across specific entities for better financial accuracy
- Alert for reconciliation issues: Message alerts will alert you if you try to reverse reconciled AR advances so you can avoid errors
Sage has also postponed discontinuing the current “Received Payment” workflow based on user feedback so you can continue to use legacy functionality if needed.
Accounts receivable
For businesses utilizing Sage Intacct’s Consolidation subscription (Domestic, Global, or Advanced), the 2025 Release 2 introduces a new “affiliate entity” dimension. This enhancement automatically tags inter-company transactions, simplifying general ledger management and boosting financial transparency.
- Reduce manual tagging errors, ensuring data accuracy in inter-company reporting
- Evolve financial processes for businesses operating across multiple entities
List enhancements
The improved advanced lists functionality provides users with a more efficient way to manage lists and record details side by side, streamlining workflows like never before.
- Advanced filtering: Smarter column filters make it faster and easier to locate the information you need.
- Improved navigation: Effortlessly retrace your steps and return to your previous location with improved navigation tools.
- Efficient record management: New split-view functionality simplifies moving between activities and managing lists, boosting productivity at every step.
Credit card transaction and cash management
Misclassified credit card transactions can disrupt workflows and complicate reconciliations. The updated credit card transaction import feature allows you to reconcile and adjust GL accounts for paid or partially paid transactions. Note this doesn’t yet support reclassifying dimensions but that will be coming in future releases.
Time and expense
Time and Expense modules are now separate navigation items for clarity and better alignment with the UI. The mobile app also has more automation so you can manage expenses on the go.
Fixed assets
Fixed asset management has significant updates:
- New depreciation methods: Custom depreciation rates
- Depreciation report roll forward: This new report allows for easy tracking and auditing over periods
- Improved usability: Enhanced UI and export capabilities make asset management even easier
Financial report builder
The financial report writer is now faster. When you save a report it will scan your report configurations and give you recommendations to improve performance. This ensures reports run quickly even at scale.
Industry-specific updates and expanded dashboards
Construction and real estate
Businesses in construction and real estate now benefit from enhanced visibility and usability improvements in compliance, work-in-progress tracking, and payroll management.
Healthcare
For healthcare institutions using Sage Intacct EMRConnect, Release 2 introduces two new dashboards for Ambulatory and Residential Care Insights. These dashboards highlight essential KPIs, including patient encounters and clinician efficiency, enabling better decision-making across operations.
