Accounts receivable enhancements
Customer reconciliation report
The new customer reconciliation report gives you a clear view of how customer payments and credits align with their invoices. At a glance, you can answer important questions like:
- Which payments and credits were applied to a specific invoice?
- Where has a particular credit been applied?
- Are there transactions that are only partially matched or not matched yet?
Each invoice is assigned a unique match sequence when payments or credits are applied. Lowercase letters represent partially paid invoices, while uppercase means the invoice is fully paid. The report can be filtered to show only unmatched items, partially matched transactions, or specific match sequences, making reconciliation more streamlined and improving overall visibility into your receivables workflow.
A similar report is now available for accounts payable—see below for details.
Running balance on AR statements
You can now add a running balance to your custom statement templates, giving customers a clear, up-to-date total with every transaction. For organizations working with foreign currencies, currency symbols now display next to amounts by default for improved clarity.
Sunsetting certain customer payment service integrations
Sage Intacct is planning to end customer payment service integrations with Authorize.net and PayPal in November 2025. If you’re using either of these services, now is the time to evaluate your options—connect with Rand Group to discuss alternatives that fit your needs.
Accounts payable enhancements
1099 updates for 2024
Sage Intacct 2024 R4 includes important changes for 1099 season. All 1099 forms now use a two-digit calendar year, and forms 1099-DIV, 1099-G, 1099-INT, 1099-K, 1099-MISC, and 1099-NEC now print Copy 1 and Copy 2 instead of Copy C.
Vendor reconciliation report
The new vendor reconciliation report makes it easier to track how payments and credits align with your bills. At a glance, you can see what’s been paid, what’s outstanding, and how each payment and credit has been applied.
- Which payments or credits were applied to a specific bill?
- Where was a specific credit applied?
- Are there transactions that are only partially matched or unmatched?
Each transaction is tagged with a match sequence—lowercase for partially paid bills, uppercase for fully paid. You can filter the report to display unmatched, partially matched, or fully matched transactions or filter by a specific match sequence, ensuring you stay organized and up to date.
Share vendor email notifications with others
You can now send payment notifications to a secondary vendor email address in addition to the primary one, ensuring all relevant vendor contacts receive timely updates. This improvement is a direct response to user feedback and helps keep everyone informed.
American Express support ending
Beginning December 31, 2024, Sage Intacct will no longer support the following American Express payment services: Check Delivery Service, ACH Payment Service, and Card Payment Service. Plan accordingly to avoid disruptions.
Make a list: Lists beta enhancements
Sage Intacct Lists enhancements (now available in beta) give you greater control over your list views. With the Lists beta interface, you can add, move, and resize columns, freeze columns for easier navigation, sort by key data, and save custom views. Advanced filters let you search by date or amount ranges—or combine multiple criteria using AND/OR options. Try the new interface in Accounts Payable > All tab > Vendors, and share your feedback to help refine these features.
Project costing and billing or grant tracking and billing enhancements
Retainage without a construction subscription
The retainage feature in accounts payable and accounts receivable is now available to all users—no construction subscription required. You can manage retainage on both vendor and customer transactions, keeping projects on track and ensuring quality.
Time and expenses enhancements
New automated workflow for expenses
Sage Intacct 2024 R4 introduces an automated workflow for employee expenses. Employees can email travel or other receipts directly into Sage Intacct from any device. AI and machine learning assist with accurate expense coding and learn preferences for future submissions. A new receipt list helps employees organize receipts and add them to expense reports, with permissions to remove unnecessary items. This delivers more convenience, accuracy, and efficiency to your expense management.
Construction enhancements
More detail on project contract invoices
You can now print all time, materials, and expenses billing details directly on project contract invoices. This eliminates the need for separate reports and provides customers with a clear, consolidated view of billed expenses.
