How to use the Import Data feature to make bulk uploads in D365 Customer Engagement
- First, prepare your data in Excel or a CSV file.
- You can import multiple files by adding them to a .zip file.
- Ensure that the file is not larger than the maximum 8 MBs, or 32 MBs for a .zip file.
- Make sure your column names match the fields in Dynamics 365. If you’re unsure, you can download a sample template from Settings > Data Management > Templates for Data Import.
- Open Advanced Settings in Dynamics 365. Go to Data Management, then click Imports and choose Import Data.
- Upload your file and follow the steps to map columns to the right CRM fields. Adjust mappings if needed.
- Determine if you are willing to allow duplicates records to be created by the import process. Normally, as a best practice, the “Allow Duplicates” field should be set to No.
- Review everything and submit the import. Dynamics 365 will process the data and check for errors.
- Once the import is done, check the Import Jobs section to see the results. If there are any issues, adjust and re-upload.
