D365 Finance & Operations Tip of the Month: Mass updates with Edit in Bulk feature
Managing large datasets in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations can be time-consuming, especially when you need to make repetitive updates across multiple rows in a grid. Whether you’re assigning a new zone ID to warehouse locations or enabling/disabling a group of users, these tasks can feel tedious without the right tool.
Tip: Use edit in bulk within grid form
The Edit in Bulk feature offers a quick and efficient solution for mass updates directly within Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. This simple but powerful feature allows you to modify specific fields for multiple rows in grid form without needing to use the Data Management Framework (DMF) or export data to Excel. It’s a simple way to save time when updating one or two fields.
Steps to use Edit in Bulk:
1. Navigate to the form where you want to make updates
2. Highlight all rows you would like to update
3. Select the vertical ellipsis (⋮) in the toolbar and select Edit Selected Rows
4. Choose the field you want to update from the dropdown menu, input the new value, and click Apply
