Introducing The Rand Team

Late this past summer, Tom Cofer and Dennis Stejskal, (formerly with the MIS Group) teamed up with Rand Group (Rand Group) to continue offering Timberline services and software to clients in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Since its inception, Rand Group has focused on building a solid and stable business by committing to building long term mutually beneficial client relationships. Tom and Dennis add their extensive Timberline experience to the firm foundation of Rand Group, along with these other Timberline members:

Tom Cofer: Tom is the Vice President of the Construction Real Estate practice for the Rand Group. Tom brings 30 years experience in helping more than 700 companies select and successfully implement Sage Timberline software. Tom was the former owner and president of Constructive Business Systems the very first Sage Timberline solution provider started in the early 1980’s. Tom has been privileged to win many Sage Timberline related awards including the Integrity award for professional ethics in business. Tom has also been privileged to have his company selected as the winner of “Highest Customer Satisfaction” for both accounting and estimating clients using Timberline Software.

Dennis Stejskal: Dennis is the Director of Professional Services for Rand Group Construction Real Estate practice.  He has been associated with Timberline for over 30 years.  Prior to Rand Group, he was with the MIS group as VP of Software Development for four years.  During that time, Dennis was involved with over 100 custom software projects with some form of Timberline integration.   Prior to joining the MIS Group he spent 26 years working directly for Timberline Software.  Dennis served in numerous roles during his years with Timberline.  They included Director – Development Partner Program, VP – Construction Accounting Business Line Manager, Project Management Sr. Product Manager, Construction Accounting Sr. Product Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, Construction Accounting Sr. Consultant and Sr. Accounting Support Representative.  Dennis was the lead functional architect of the Timberline Office Suite of Accounting and Project Management software.

Kerrie Schupp: Kerrie is the Director of Client Relations. has over twenty years of sales, service and management in the areas of service and construction.  Her career includes the start up of two successful service businesses. Prior to Rand Group, she was with MIS Group for 5 years and was promoted in the last year to Sr. Director of Sales. For 12 years prior to MIS Group, Kerrie served as Manager of a local construction company.  While there, she worked hand in hand with the development team at MIS to develop the software that the construction company still utilizes today.  Her career has included positions within both the office-based and field based environment serving a Project Manager for Six Sigma Team. Kerrie uses her broad base expertise in customer service, sales, training and construction to provide internal and external customer intimacy company-wide.

David Halper: David is a Sr Associate for Rand Group Construction Real Estate practice. For over 30 years, he has been involved in the planning, equipment selection, and design and implementation of computerized information systems for a construction, business, institutions and government. For the past 25 years David has had the responsibility to manage the implementation of Timberline systems for several hundred property managers and contractors, and developers. He is a Certified Timberline Consultant and a Certified Trainer for the Accounting and Real Estate products and has conducted numerous courses in the MAC, Medallion and Gold series of Timberline Software. He completed three terms on the Timberline Certified Consultants Council. has an undergraduate engineering degree from the University of Missouri at Rolla and a master’s of science degree in industrial administration from the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management. In 2002 he was named Timberline Consultant of the Year.

Laurie Jimenez: Laurie is a Senior Associate for Rand Group Construction Real Estate practice. Laurie holds a BS from Texas Tech University with 30+ years experience in organizational operations, 18+ years in software support and consulting. For the past 14 years, Laurie has been recognized as an outstanding Sage/Timberline Certified consultant and trainer, with specializations in Construction and Project Management operations, Real Estate Development and Service Operations. In 2003, she was named Timberline Consultant of the Year. In 2007, Laurie completed a rigorous certification process, earning a coveted Project Management Professional endorsement from the Project Management Institute.

Cathy Karrenbrock: Cathy is a Senior Associate for Rand Group Construction Real Estate practice and has over 15 years of experience with Sage Timberline Office. She has been a Certified Timberline Consultant and Trainer for past 4 years. She specializes in implementing construction operations solutions, project accounting, Timberline training and general support. Prior to becoming a consultant Cathy served as the controller for a general contractor which successfully implemented and used Timberline software. She has extensive knowledge of the construction industry and hands-on experience in using the software to perform processes and track information vital to this industry.

Year End Training

Whether you are new to Timberline or an experienced user, some of the Year End tasks might seem daunting, since they are only performed “once a year.” Our professional services team members planned several opportunities for you to learn some of the tips and tricks to managing the year end processes.
Topics such as Government Forms, “Which modules Do I close”, “Should I archive data now or later”, and others will be covered during the class. Additionally, the instructors will cover new features and enhancements offered in Sage/Timberline Office version 9.6 and beyond!
