Domain Name Services (DNS) & Solutions
Domain Name Services, or “DNS”, is a protocol that runs the internet. Every hostname (ex: www.domain.com) maps to an IP address (ex: 10.12.14.16). While humans think in terms of words, or hostnames, modern networks run on IP addresses. The Domain Name Service maps the hostname to an IP address. While this makes it convenient to navigate to a domain without having to remember its IP address(es), DNS is also vital to modern Active Directory networks to ensure they run optimally. Poorly configured DNS can result in network slowdowns, timeouts, and other performance issues.
