Best new Jet Reports features to improve your workflow

Jet Reports by insightsoftware allows users to turn data into valuable insights with reports that you design inside Excel with data pulled straight from your ERP or data source of choice. New Jet Reports features and updates are released each quarter to ensure the solution maintains peak performance and delivers value for users. Below is our recap of the best new Jet Reports features from releases 21.3 and 21.4 that will make reporting easier, plus a preview of new features coming throughout 2022.

To help scheduling and distributing batch reports go smoother for users, Jet Reports developed a new report scheduling wizard. The wizard walks the user through a series of simple questions to complete a batch schedule and report template for them. This replaces the previous Microsoft Excel template that was used to create a batch schedule.

To provide an improved support experience for users without access to the Jet Admin Console, data logging can now be turned on or off from either the Jet Hub interface, or the Jet Services Administration Shell. Data logging is commonly required when support is actively helping to diagnose an issue, and this enhancement makes it easier to turn logging on or off.

To help users identify and correct potential errors more quickly when scheduling and distributing batch reports, Jet Reports will now send a specified user an email alert if a task fails. This saves users time by not having to manually check if a task has been completed.

Jet Reports now consistently sorts the results returned by the NL First and Evaluate functions when the user does not specify a sort order. Results are now sorted in the same way whether you are using Web Services or Direct SQL connections to access data.

To improve Jet Reports real-world performance, insightsoftware delivered optimizations in the areas of caching, API management, and paging in versions 21.3 and 21.4.
