Sage Intacct 2024 release 3 is live—learn what’s new and why it matters

Sage Intacct 2024 Release 3 introduces significant enhancements, including expanded file format support for bank imports, improved credit and discount management in financials, DKIM-secured email delivery, an AI-powered time entry assistant, and a robust usage insights dashboard. These enhancements empower businesses to operate more efficiently and gain deeper operational insights.

2024 Release 3 is now available, introducing a range of powerful updates to enhance efficiency, security, and insights across your business. In this post, Rand Group breaks down the most impactful new features in three key areas: financials, platform efficiency, and industry insights.

Financials

Support for additional file types in bank imports

Bank reconciliation just got easier. The bank transaction assistant file import now supports BAI2 and CAMT.053 formats in addition to existing types. If your financial institution uses these formats, you can now import data seamlessly into Sage Intacct. This enhancement was highly requested and demonstrates Sage’s commitment to customer feedback.

Unapply credits in posted payments

You can now unapply credits—such as advances, debit memo adjustments, negative bills, and negative line items—from posted payments in accounts payable. Once unapplied, credits become available to apply to other bills, streamlining your credit management process.

Edit discount amount in accounts receivable

You can now configure accounts receivable to allow custom discounts. This means you can edit the discount when processing a customer payment—no need to create a debit or credit memo if the remittance doesn’t match the invoice amount, making cash application more flexible.

Originating document workflow for sales and purchase orders

Trace transactions to their source with the new originating document workflow. For example, a purchasing workflow that starts with a requisition, moves to an order, then a shipment, and finally an invoice, can now be traced back at any point. This helps you generate more informative reports, quickly identify reconciliation issues, and improve auditability.

Cash management enhancements

The Reconciliation page now defaults to showing all unmatched transactions. When you open the Reconcile bank account or credit card account page, the transaction type filter is automatically set to “All,” so you see all unmatched transactions at a glance.

Platform efficiency

Enhanced email delivery with DKIM

Email security takes a leap forward in this release. Sage Intacct now uses DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) for email delivery, providing a digital signature for every outgoing message. This ensures recipients can verify your emails are authentic and haven’t been altered in transit.

Usage insights dashboard

The new usage insights feature provides real-time operational dashboards, surfacing key accounting process metrics from multiple sources. These dashboards help you understand transaction volume, usage patterns, access, permissions, and more—helping you optimize system utilization and spot trends.

Tabs include:

• Overview: Track customer/vendor growth, module activations, user activity, and locations
• Customers: Analyze customer growth trends and map customer locations
• Vendors: Analyze vendor growth and visualize vendor locations
• API usage: View web service/API activity for current and previous months

AI assistant in Sage Intelligent Time

The Time & Expense application now leverages AI for automatic generation of time entry descriptions. The AI assistant creates more specific and descriptive titles for activity cards, replacing generic labels like “Computer Activity.” AI-generated content is marked with a badge for easy identification. (Note: this feature is currently in beta.)

Industry insights

Track order entry transactions with the contract dimension

Companies using Order Entry Revenue Management can now access the contract dimension without subscribing to the full Contract application. This enables deeper analysis and categorization of order entry transactions for improved reporting and insights.
