What’s new in the NetSuite 2022.1 release

NetSuite is rolling out its first release of the year, 2022.1, and it includes a wide range of new features and impressive enhancements. Our team of software engineers and industry experts compiled a list of updates and enhancements we believe will be most valuable to companies currently using NetSuite.

New supply planning workbench view filters

This release enables users to create a saved planning workbench view which can be used to help organizations plan more efficiently and reduce stockouts. This saved planning workbench view can include pre-set filters and an embedded item saved search. The item saved search can include item-related criteria such as item location and preferred supplier. For example, users can use Saved Search to filter the planning workbench results for the item preferred supplier. This enables the planner or buyer to view all related planning data for the supplier.

Warehouse Management (WMS) enhancements

Warehouse Management received numerous enhancements in the NetSuite 2022.1 release. Included in this release are the following updates:

  • Scheduled release of multiple waves – the WMS Wave Release Schedule page received new fields for releasing multiple waves. The Wave Release Limit allows a user to enter the maximum number of waves they want to generate for each scheduled release.
  • Zone picking for single and multiple orders – new system rules were added to enable users to select one or more zones from which they want to pick items. This update supports the pick and merge picking typing for both single and multiple orders and includes a setting to require staging of all items from an order in the same bin.
  • Tally Scanning support for additional mobile processes –Tally Scanning now supports Bin Putaway, Bin Transfer, Inventory Transfer, Cycle Count, and Returns mobile processes.

Supply Chain Management (SCM) mobile enhancements

SCM mobile received numerous enhancements in this release including the ability to add columns to a Data Table element and enhanced navigation for pop-up windows. In addition to these SCM mobile enhancements, Mobile Pack Station and Manufacturing Mobile received updates.

  • Mobile Pack Station – Pack Station is used to process order fulfillment using a kiosk device or tablet. In this release, users can now specify the number of items they want to pack for items that ship as is or individually. Users can also directly change the unit of a pack carton’s weight.
  • Manufacturing Mobile – Manufacturing Mobile allows production operators to report shop floor data using mobile scanners. In this release, new enhancements were added to provide additional context about a shift and pop-up messages were updated to provide better descriptions of the outcome of specific actions.

Supply allocation popup windows

Included in the NetSuite 2022.1 release, the Allocated Demand and Allocated Supply pop-up windows are now available on the Supply Chain Snapshot. These pop-up windows are available on various lines and display relevant allocated demand and supply details. These new pop-up windows are available on the following lines:

  • Supply order lines – the pop-up window displays the details of each allocated demand order
  • Inventory lines – the allocated demand figure links to a pop-up window that displays the details of each allocated demand order
  • Demand order lines – the pop-up window displays the allocated source of supply details

Additionally, when an organization experiences shortages and demand orders are delayed, the allocated supply pop-up window displays where the inventory or supply is missing or delayed. The allocated demand pop-up window shows where supply orders or inventory is allocated and which demand orders are affected.

Dataset linking in SuiteAnalytics Workbook UI

In the NetSuite 2022 release 1, users can now link two datasets in the Workbook UI. This enables users to analyze metrics from two datasets in a single visualization. Additionally, with linked datasets, users can compare data that exists on two different levels of aggregation, like the sum of individual transactions vs a monthly budget. To create a link between two datasets, you can now define a set of common keys between the two datasets. The ability to link datasets improves an organization’s reporting flexibility and increases business intelligence.
