Run and view reports with the Web Portal
Solverโs Reporting and Planning modules are browser-based with reports and security managed through a modern Web Portal. This Web Portal is where users manage, refresh, and view reports from within their web browser. Power Users launch the Excel add-in from the Solver Web Portal and then publish finished report templates and dashboards into the Web Portal for end-users to access.
There are two menus to view reports within the Web Portal:
Live reporting menu โ this is where end-users can run reports on demand using parameters to filter data based on criteria such as company, department, and period.
Archive menu โ this is where end-users and managers can view and analyze completed reports that have been executed and shared.
Build powerful reports with the Excel-add in
Included in Solver is the powerful cloud-connected Excel add-in for design of anything from simple to highly complex input forms, reports, or dashboards. Most reports can be designed without entering a single formula with the drag and drop report design menu. Leverage the Excel add-in to seamlessly embed charts for visual insights directly onto reports. When Power Users launch the Excel add-in for design, they remain connected to Solver Web Portal in the cloud.
The Excel add-in consists of two menus within Excel:
Excel add-in ribbon โ this provides access to key functions such as design new reports, manage configuration and report properties, open/close task pane and design window, and manage report parameters
Excel add-in task pane โ this features the popular Microsoft Outlook-style menu bar to give access to design and run repots in Excel. Data will load from the cloud and into the report as it executes.
Seamlessly consolidate critical business data
Built on Microsoft Azure and residing in Solverโs multi-tenant cloud, the Data Warehouse is a powerful, yet easy to configure module for consolidating the data needed for reporting, planning and dashboards. The Data Warehouse database is fully integrated with Solverโs Web Portal and its Reporting and Planning modules. Administrators can seamlessly configure and manage the Data Warehouse from within the Web Portal without the need for much technical skills or developers.
The Solver Data Warehouse includes the following Components
- Integration – connectors enable integration between Solver and business applications
- Modules and dimensions – used to group and store data based on pre-defined fields
- Currency – advanced features which calculate foreign currency exchange
- Data explorer – filters, groups, and displays data for each module
- Processes – SQL procedure-based rules that enable data transformation and movement
