Rand Group launches AI Business Unit to drive innovation and deliver intelligent solutions

Rand Group is pleased to announce the formation of a dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) Business Unit, expanding our commitment to helping organizations harness emerging technologies to improve business performance.

The new business unit will focus on developing AI-powered solutions and services that address real-world business challenges. By combining artificial intelligence with our deep expertise in enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), business processes, and industry-specific requirements, Rand Group aims to help clients move beyond AI experimentation and realize tangible business benefits.

“This is an important investment in our future. We have great opportunity to combine the deep business, industry, and technology expertise we have with AI tooling to create new value for our clients and new avenues of growth for Rand Group,” said Ron Rand, CEO of Rand Group.

Combining AI development with business and technology expertise

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming how organizations operate. With the emergence of AI agents capable of executing tasks, coordinating workflows, and interacting with business systems, companies have new opportunities to automate complex processes, increase productivity, and improve decision-making.

However, realizing the potential of AI requires more than access to the latest technology. Successful adoption depends on understanding business processes, connecting AI to the right systems and data, and identifying opportunities that deliver meaningful results.

For more than two decades, Rand Group has helped organizations improve operations through technology. Our expertise across Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle NetSuite, Sage, and other business applications provides a strong foundation for developing AI solutions that work within the systems organizations already depend on.

What differentiates Rand Group’s approach is our ability to combine AI development with an understanding of the business processes, applications, and industry requirements that drive day-to-day operations. Rather than treating AI as a standalone technology, Rand Group focuses on integrating intelligent capabilities into existing ERP, CRM, and operational workflows. This approach helps organizations build on their technology investments while addressing business challenges that traditional automation alone may not solve.

The new AI Business Unit builds on this experience, bringing together specialized expertise to accelerate the development of intelligent solutions for our clients.

Developing AI solutions for business and industry challenges

A central focus of the new business unit will be the development of repeatable AI agents and solutions designed to address common operational challenges, as well as specialized requirements within the industries we serve.

Our initiatives will focus on several key areas:

  • Industry-specific AI solutions: Developing agents and intelligent applications tailored to the unique processes and challenges of industries such as manufacturing, distribution, construction, healthcare, oil & gas, and professional services.
  • Business process automation: Creating AI agents that streamline workflows across finance, sales, customer service, supply chain, and other business functions.
  • ERP and CRM integration: Connecting AI capabilities with existing Microsoft, NetSuite, Sage, and other business applications to extend the value of clients’ technology investments.
  • AI consulting and implementation services: Helping organizations assess opportunities, develop strategies, implement AI solutions, and establish appropriate governance.
  • Ongoing AI optimization and support: Helping clients manage, refine, and expand their AI capabilities as business requirements and technologies evolve.

In addition to developing proprietary solutions, Rand Group will continue helping clients evaluate and adopt the AI capabilities being introduced by leading software publishers.

Our approach recognizes that organizations will benefit from a combination of native AI functionality, purpose-built solutions, and custom development, depending on their business needs.

Taking a practical approach to AI implementation and innovation

With AI technology evolving at an unprecedented pace, organizations need solutions that deliver results today while remaining adaptable for tomorrow. Rand Group’s AI Business Unit will take an iterative approach to innovation, identifying high-value opportunities, developing solutions, testing them against practical business requirements, and refining them based on feedback and results.

Rather than pursuing technology for its own sake, our focus will be on identifying opportunities where AI can reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, accelerate processes, and enable employees to focus on higher-value activities. This approach also recognizes the importance of security, data quality, governance, and human oversight in implementing AI responsibly.

Rand Group is building the team and refining its strategy throughout the remainder of 2026, with new AI solutions expected to begin coming to market in 2027.

Dedicated leadership to drive Rand Group’s AI strategy

The new business unit will be led by Jennifer McNamara, who is transitioning into the role of Chief AI Officer. In this role, Jennifer will guide Rand Group’s AI strategy, solution development, and efforts to bring innovative AI offerings to market.

Jennifer brings a combination of technical, consulting, and business leadership experience to the role, having worked across software development, consulting, project management, training, and marketing throughout her career.

“The greatest opportunity with AI isn’t simply automating tasks. It’s rethinking how businesses operate and finding better ways to get work done. By combining our understanding of business processes with AI development expertise, we can create solutions that address real operational challenges and deliver measurable value for our clients,” said Jennifer McNamara, Chief AI Officer at Rand Group.

Adam MacIntosh, Director of Emerging Technologies at Rand Group, and his team will also join the AI Business Unit, bringing extensive experience in custom software development, system integration, and emerging technologies.

Expanding AI consulting and implementation services for clients

For existing clients, the new AI Business Unit creates additional opportunities to extend the value of their current technology investments through intelligent automation and innovative solutions.

For organizations evaluating new ERP, CRM, or other business technology platforms, Rand Group will increasingly incorporate AI capabilities and opportunities into the conversation, helping clients consider not only what their systems can do today, but how they can evolve to meet tomorrow’s needs.

Clients can already take advantage of Rand Group’s existing AI and machine learning consulting services, including AI agent strategy, implementation, and custom development. Our team can help organizations identify high-value opportunities, implement native AI capabilities, and develop custom solutions that integrate with their existing business systems.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape business technology, Rand Group is committed to helping organizations navigate these changes with confidence and turn emerging possibilities into meaningful business outcomes.
