Introducing bulk editing in grids feature in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations

Prerequisite

To enable bulk editing in grids, it must first be enabled through feature management in Dynamics 365.

1. Go to System administration > Workspaces > Feature management.​

2. Under the All tab, search for the feature name bulk editing in grids. Select the feature and click Enable now.

3. A green check mark will appear showing that the feature has been enabled under the Status column.

Example: Update method of payment on multiple customers

By following these steps, the method of payment can be updated on customers in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. Updating the method of payment refers to the process of modifying or changing the way a customer makes payments for transactions. This action can involve updating payment terms, selecting a different payment method (e.g., credit card, bank transfer, etc.)

1. Go to Accounts receivable > Customers > All customers.

2. The customer grid will appear. Click the three dots on the right side of the screen and select the Insert columns option.

3. A new field can be added to the grid view. For this specific case, the Method of Payment field needs to be added. Check the box and click Update.

4. The grid will show a display with the Method of Payment column inserted into the view.

5. Select the accounts that need to be edited, click the three dots on the right, and choose Edit selected rows.

6. The user can then choose the appropriate field (Method of Payment). And select the value to edit in bulk.

7. Click Apply. Once applied the method of payment will be updated for all customer accounts selected.
