What’s New in Dynamics GP 2016?
- HTML5 Browser and Multi-Device Support for Web Client:
Dynamics GP 2016 introduces the HTML5 interface, removing the need for Silverlight to run the Dynamics GP Web Client. HTML5 enables GP forms to render as webpages, which means the GP Web Client can be fully used on any device which supports an HTML5 web browser. It also includes a new integrated search functionality!
- Improved SmartLists Functionality:
Reduce reporting time by utilizing the import/export functionality which allows you to import and export SmartList definitions from one install to another. It also reduces mouse-clicks in routine processes by creating new SmartList’s from favourites using SmartList Designer.
- More “All in One” Document Viewers:
This enhancement allows users to view all related inventory or sales documents for a transaction in one window.
- Power BI Reports:
GP 2016 Power BI reports are now available right on the home page to give your team a quick snapshot of the data they need to see everyday.
- HTTPS Support:
You can now deploy Management Reporter for HTTPS access to give users access to reports over a secure HTTPS connection.
- Export Numbers:
Numbers that are exported from Excel will now be formatted as numbers rather than text.
- Exception Reporting:
Build more comprehensive exception reports when running budgets, and print and display accounts that aren’t set-up in GP 2016.
- Enhanced WorkFlows:
Gain more control with workflow reassignment notifications via email for delegations, escalations and alternate approvals.
Dynamics GP 2016 is a powerful release. With improved cloud support and workflows, web based enhancements and the new Odata connections for Power BI, the newest version of GP is poised to help your business leverage the cloud, get more insight from your data, and empower your employees with an easy interface and accessibility anywhere.
Microsoft will be releasing Dynamics GP 2016 R2 in the second half of 2016, so keep an eye out in October or November for a home page refresh, new Web Client functionality, and more business intelligence enhancements.
